Jason Shorbe has been part of the BASIS Curriculum Schools network since 2012, in several different positions. He began as the Head of School at BASIS Tucson where he led the team that developed the first primary school in the network. Mr. Shorbe then went on to become an associate Vice President for BASIS.ed where he played a key role in the expansion of the BASIS Curriculum Schools network into Washington, DC, New York, California, and Texas as well as helping to open new schools in Arizona.
Mr. Shorbe then moved with his family to China where he was the Head of School at the first international school in the network, BASIS International School Shenzhen, for two years. He has been involved in the opening of new BASIS International Schools in Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Park Lane Harbor in Huizhou before settling in as Head of School for BASIS International School Guangzhou.
William Qian is the Founding Head of Operations for BASIS International School in Guangzhou.
Prior to joining BASIS, William spent six and half years as the Chief Financial and Operations Officer at the American international School of Guangzhou. Before that, he worked as an investment advisor in Guangzhou, and previously as an auditor for Ernst and Young in San Francisco, California.
William earned his graduate degree from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Hubei College of education.
He is married with three children and enjoys travel, reading, golf, and being a part of the international school community.
