Admissions Steps and Requirements

Step 1
Attend an Informational Event.

Though not required, we recommend that you attend an informational event to learn about our program before you apply.

Step 2
Complete and submit an application package and non-refundable application fee of RMB 2000.

Application packages are available in two ways:

  1. Download a PAPER APPLICATION, fill it out and deliver it to the school -OR-
  2. Visit the school to pick up a paper application

Application fees can be paid either:

  • In person with a credit or debit card at BASIS International School Guangzhou
  • Via bank transfer with the GRADE and STUDENT NAME to:
    • Account Name (户 名):广州贝赛思外籍人员子女学校
    • Account Number (账 号):8110901013201026954
    • Bank (开户行):中信银行广州开发区支行
(Required for all grades)
  • Copy of birth certificate, immunization record
  • Copy of applicant foreign passport/ID or permanent residency of foreign countries or districts
  • Recent digital photographs of applicant with a plain white background emailed to The subject line must include the GRADE and NAME of the student (for example "Grade 4 – John Doe")
  • Copy of parents/ guardians passport/ID
  • Provide teacher evaluation forms to your child's current teacher(s).(Required for 5th–9th grades)
  • Submit transcript request to your child's current school. (Required for 2nd–9th grades)

PLEASE NOTE: Providing these documents before interviews and tests is very helpful and allows us to speed up the admission process for your child.

Step 3
Register at our Admissions Office for...
  • Your child's group playdate (Kindergarten) OR
  • Your child's entrance exams
    BASIS International School Guangzhou does not require standardized test scores for entrance for grades G1 through G9. We utilize our own Math and English tests, we use the WIDA test to assess to evaluate applicants. (Required for G1 – G9)
  • Your Family Interview (Required for all grades)
    All applicants, and at least one parent and/or legal guardian, must attend a 15-minute meeting. During this meeting, we will interview you and your student, and answer any questions you might have.
